Cable Diagnostic Instrumentation and ServiceIMCORP is a corporation specializing in the development, design and manufacturing of instrumentation for the
diagnostic
The technology underlying the Imcorp diagnostic test method is the location of partial discharges
emanating from defects in cables that are subjected to gradually increasing electrical stress. This stress is
achieved by means of the normal alternating power frequency (50/60Hz) voltage. The Imcorp technology, developed 15 years
ago at the University of Connecticut (USA), has been utilized to test over 6000 Km of medium voltage cables in North
and South America as well as in six European countries. The technology has proved to be particularly accurate,
sensitive and robust with respect to ambient noise.
IMCORP's technology is applicable to cables insulated with oil-impregnated paper (PILC) as well as extruded plastic
materials.
